This was straight from the mouth of a student I'm currently coaching. For months, I walked this student (and a few others) through the step-by-step plan of launching a coaching business. And I find that people LOVE when I'm teaching things like:
But whenever I get to the step that says, "Work your daily sales activities..." eyes glaze over. People stop listening, or listen but don't take action. On this particular morning, I opened the group call to ask what questions were coming up over the past week. There was that awkward silence for about 2 minutes, and finally I said, "Did any of you do anything you were supposed to?" and sheepishly, a few people shook their heads no. It wasn't because they were bad students- it was because we were on the step "work your daily sales activities" and no one likes that step. 😂 That's when Suzy popped on the call, slightly late and flustered - asking what we were talking about. I repeated back my prompt and her eyes lit up. "Oh! I finally did what you've been telling us to do for months. I know I know. I should have started earlier. But I started commenting in a group in hopes of starting natural DM convos, and after four comments, I had a private message. And she ended up becoming a client!" 30 minutes of daily work turned into a multi-thousand dollar client. Daily sales activities are a non-negotiable. Yes, even if you're running funnels. And more than any other task, I notice people don't understand what I mean, or what to do, or how to do it.
